Oats belong to the sweet grass family (Poaceae). In the past, oats were considered a weed for a long time, but today oats are used as food and feed. The species known as oats have been cultivated for thousands of years and are widespread throughout Europe, Asia and Northwest Africa. All oats have edible seeds, but in most species they are small and difficult to harvest. Green oats are the grasses of the oat plant and can be brewed into a delicious tea. Preparation:
Pour boiling water over 2 teaspoons of green oats per cup.Allow to steep for 20 minutes and then strain.
