Algae are trendy! Dulse is a red algae that thrives in the cool coastal waters of the Atlantic and Pacific. It is also called kelp, dulce or söl. The algae leaves are reddish-brown in color, grow up to 20cm long and can be harvested all year round. Dulse flakes are a great addition to the kitchen: they are wonderful as a soup garnish, for example. The algae are already very popular, especially in countries like Ireland, France and Sweden. The taste is slightly nutty. Dulse is a natural source of iodine. The German Nutrition Society recommends not exceeding an average daily intake of more than 0.2 mg of iodine.
The raw materials come from controlled organic cultivation and are carefully processed in a factory in Bavaria with over 30 years of experience.
Preparation:
Soak the flakes in water for 1-2 minutes and use them, for example, as a soup garnish.
