Boldo is an evergreen shrub with firm leaves and is related to the laurel family. Very powerful and as intense as bay leaves. The shrub can grow up to 6 meters tall. It grows in South America, but is now also cultivated in North Africa.
Boldo is often used in herbal tea blends and has a strong spicy taste with a slightly minty note.
In South America, boldo is used as a kitchen spice and as an addition to mate, in addition to being made into a tea.
