The ribwort plantain is probably the most well-known representative of the almost 200 plantain species and originally comes from Europe. The name Plantain means something like King of the Way, as it can often be found along the edges of the road. Ribwort plantain can also be found in meadows. It has its heyday from May to September. Today the buckhorn is considered one of the most important domestic medicinal plants.
