Coriander (Coriandrum sativum) belongs to the umbelliferae family (Apiaceae). The herb was originally used extensively in Asian cuisine and is characterized by its spicy freshness. The wild herb is one of the oldest well-known spices and was already mentioned in the Old Testament. Coriander was also found in the tomb of Tutankhamun as a burial object.
