The tonka bean tree is a tree that grows up to 30 metres high and is also called tonka tree or sarrapia. Originally, the rich green tree comes from South America, but is now cultivated in African countries such as Kenya and Nigeria. The beans of the tree have a vanilla-like taste that is sweetish, slightly bitter. Already at the end of the 18th century, the tasty beans found their way to Europe, where they were also partly cultivated in greenhouses.
Tonka beans from controlled organic cultivation. To ensure the excellent quality, the raw material is controlled and bottled in our manufactory in Germany. Free from any additives and therefore extremely compatible. Suitable for vegans and all those who pay attention to a balanced, relaxed lifestyle.
Preparation:
Grate 1 bean with a nutmeg grater. Dose sparingly as it is very intense.
