Algae are trendy!
Dulse is a red algae that thrives in the cool coastal waters of the Atlantic and Pacific. They are also called ragweed, dulce or sol. The algae leaves are reddish brown in color, grow up to 20cm long and can be harvested all year round. Dulse powder is a great addition in the kitchen: it is ideal for adding to soups, salads, smoothies or baking mixes. It is also often used as a salt substitute. The algae are already very popular, especially in countries like Ireland, France and Sweden. They are dried at a gentle temperature and then ground into a fine powder. The taste is slightly nutty. Dulse is a natural source of iodine. The German Society for Nutrition recommends not to exceed an average daily intake of more than 0.2 mg iodine.

Preparation:
We recommend stirring a maximum of 2 g (1 tablespoon) daily into food or into cold water.
