7 Mushroom Powder - An original medicinal mushroom mixture of cordyceps, shiitake, reishi, chaga, maitake, white mushroom and lion's mane. Reishi mushrooms are considered a symbol of long life and good luck in China. There they are also called "herb with spiritual power", "ten thousand year mushroom" or medicinal mushroom. The Chinese name is Ling Zhi, meaning "spirit plant" or "divine mushroom of immortality". Cordyceps is also known as Chinese caterpillar fungus, Jartsa Gunbu or Dong Chong Xia Cao. The orange, elongated mushroom bodies feel at home in mountain heights of 3,000 to 5,000 meters. The dried mushrooms are gently ground into a powder. Shiitake is probably one of the best known Chinese mushrooms. The name means something like mushroom (take) that grows on the Pasania tree (Shii). The Chaga mushroom grows as a parasitic fungus on white birch trees in cold climates. For centuries, Chaga has been used as a tea and tincture for many different applications in areas of the northern hemisphere. Maitake comes from Japanese and means "dancing mushroom". The legend of this name says that a dance of joy was done when it was found because this mushroom is so valuable and extremely rare. The Maitake is a very tasty edible mushroom and has been collected and eaten as a delicacy in China and Japan for thousands of years. In addition to Chaga, Reishi and Co., lion's mane also joins the ranks of superfood mushrooms. It is a rare mushroom that is native to old forests in Europe, China, Japan and North America. The white mushroom, Tremella fuciformis, is an edible mushroom and very popular in Japan. The mushroom thrives best in a tropical, subtropical climate and prefers to grow on mango wood. Tremella fuciformis got its nickname "silver ear" because of its peculiar appearance. The mushroom has a pale yellow to whitish color and intertwined gelatinous lobes that actually look like ears.
