The marigold (Calendula officinalis) belongs to the daisy family and is a small herbaceous plant with orange-yellow flowers that is one of the oldest garden plants. The name marigold comes from the ring-shaped fruits. The marigold is mainly grown in Germany and the Netherlands, but can also be found in Hungary, Egypt and Poland. The plant is undoubtedly one of the best-known medicinal plants that can be used internally and externally.
